Are we all in la la land?
Lately it has been tough to be on social media of any kind, since it's a constant reminder of the crazy present and what is being called truth. It's hard to believe any of it is actually happening. I keep waiting for someone to say, "just kidding, this was all for fakesies."
It's overwhelming because it makes me feel helpless. But that is exactly the opposite of what the world needs - it's essential to be aware, stay informed, to understand - to vote locally and make our voices heard, especially as future health care providers. Doing my best to remain balanced but also intentional, so that I can be a part of that change.
Within all of the darkness, I'm grateful for the little things that strike inspiration. I'm normally not a person who likes musicals - but La La Land was exquisite. It was the perfect mix of literary romance and realism: the real struggle of trying to reach your dreams and how things don't work out despite how you feel. Even real, genuine love. But they had to meet each other in order to reach their dreams, and the way they loved each other was in past moments. Poetic.
So, taking time to slow down between all of the living so we give ourselves a chance to love - what are your moments?
